You could also just buy the oleos (not the expensive part of the retract equation, but the most beneficial in terms of handling a rough field) and mount them on your music wire if you are concerned about shock to the airframe just using the wire. Later, if you decide to add the retract mechanism themselves then you will all ready have the oleos.
