CVEC Pipe mod discussion
This sounded like the best pipe ever when I got it but now I don't think so. Since its a 2 peice that screws together it leaks all over .With that convergent cone in there it probably traps unburnt fuel in there almost half full till it blows it out of the piston.Every time I idle it to make an adjustment the pipe loads up and it runs really sluggish for about 4 high speed passes and it still never really cleans out.Ever since I put this pipe on my car its ran inconsistantly and leaks all over and I generally don't like it and I'm gonna go with the THS set.I know it says to tune it differently than with a normal pipe but I've tried tuning it every way possible and it just won't cooperate with me so I'm done with it.
On to the modification process of the CVEC,"if it doesn't perform right and your stuck with it,modify it".I'm takin the piston out completely,its bunk .I might end up cutting the convergence cone to leave a threaded coupler but for now,the piston is just coming out.About that dual exhaust.....gotta go,I'm into the import/street car look so I'm gonna ditch the 2 tubes by cutting them off and plugging them.Then I'm gotta rotate the pipe,hide the plugged doles and drill for a new huge stinger like the cosmetic one in my "Blue Eclipse "thread in paint and body.I have a header extension that was made for me by a freind so I'll actually be able to move the pipe to the rear and make it just like the one in the pic ,but real
