Default RE: DLE-85 85cc Gas Engine at troybuiltmodels.com

This was our first run with the engine. We aren't trying to lean it out as it isn't broken in. You can expect numbers above our initial findings once the engine is leaned out and the ring is properly seated. Also, we used a MSC propeller, not a Xoar. The MSC is wider than the Xoar so it's really comparing apples to oranges. A MSC will always swing lower RPM's due to this wideness, and they also measure a ''full'' 25'' rather than ''almost'' 25''.

I'm going to ask Jeff if we can put a good ''middle of the road'' prop on there since the MSC is so wide but remember, we need time to break the engine in properly before getting too lean.

You don't run a gas engine rich to break it in you add some extra oil and run a smaller prop. No excessive full throttle operation either. Tune it for the rich side of peak and post the numbers.

Agreed the MSC prop will load more.
