I gave that one a thought too. While having a removable top Arrow style is certainly more practical, it is not quite as elegant as the single fuse.
The main issue I see if making it a single piece fuse is the finish required to the fuse before permanently attaching the deck to it. I suppose there is a way to install the deck as if it were going to be removable (i.e., with some strips down the side top of the fuse to anchor the deck to), tack glue it, sand the job to uniformity, glass the wood and they paint the items separately so one can also finish the fuse area where the deck goes. The only drawback is that the seam would be visible if bonding after paint.
I suppose the alternative would be to finish the fuse interior area before final finish of the exterior so that the deck can be permanently attached and finished together with the fuse. This might be a better option so that the fuse is well blended in finish.
