Default RE: Miles Hawk

Be very carefull about the Miles Hawk family of aircraft. I have been researching this airplane for several years and have found limited information. I am building a Miles Hawk G-ADNL from scratch and the wings are different than other hawks.

Some hawks have a straight center section and then tapered outer panels. the Hawk that I am building has the center section removed and only has the outer panels, it was built for racing.

If you can find it WINGS OVER WOODLEY, by Julian C. Temple has the best history of these aircraft is have seen so far. Many of the hawks were one of a kind custom built for racing in the 1930's. This is a hardbound book from england.

If you decide to build make sure your documention, 3-view and photos match your plans. When I started my project I got two different plans of Miles Hawks and didn't like any of them and decided to build from my own plans to match my documention.

Good luck,
Fred Cronenwett
