What will get better MPG?
So me and my dad are planning on trading vehicles here in a little while. In my family, there has been a huge battle over which vehicles gets better gas mileage. The battle is who would get better gas mileage/more time between fuel ups at 65 mph on the highway...
His car:
2006 Pontiac Grand Prix
3.8 V6 with K&N filter, Bosch plugs and wires, 140k miles
Oil changed every 3000 miles, all maintanence done on time, every time.
He says he averages 34mpg @ 55mph with cruise control
I think his gas tank is around 16 gallons.
My car:
2001 Hyundai Acent
1.6L I4 DOHC 16v, K&N filter, Bosch Plugs, 124k miles
Oil changed every 3000 miles, all maintainence done on time, every time.
I will be lucky to get 30mpg since it does not have cruice control
My tank is about 10 gallons.
So at 65 mph, regular highway driving, Pontiac on cruise locked in at 65, and Hyundai trying to keep at 65 without cruise, who would get better mileage?
