I used a Sabretooth in my Tamiya KT when I changed it from a static and really liked it. I'll go that way if an RX18 is not an option. I'll miss the sound though...

Thanks for this info. I was trying to figure out what motors to get to run at 7.2 volt to change over for the RX18, and I think two motors of this type would be at least the same as the $765 for the Sabretooth. My Sabretooth is really smooth running- even better than a Tamiya unit.... not to mention A LOT cheaper!
