Well...I kinda made my own rear wheel drive car...Ford Escort Mk2 Rally...

You can see some parts of the build here (I need to update it some more)...I just got the front disc brakes working....

Or the full build over here ( if its allowed)..

the what is a highly probable piece of crap this thread is about doesn't compare to the slightest of your well designed vehicle that it looks like a lot of planning, and thought was put into

This HPI design on the other hand reminds me now that I think about it of a $25 tyco I had in the early 90's that had no suspension at all, and handled like crap. I think it also had a solid rear axle come to think of it.
OMG, I totally agree.
Prestonalal, This thread would be wholy different if HPI released a car like you have built!
A front motor, rear drive solid axle, with front disk brakes..... a thing of absolute beauty!

We always say have RWD trucks dont handle well, because breaking only happens on the rear....so if you turn while braking the truck does a 180.
But with front disk brakes the result should be very different. And you can with modern ESC's and some servo calibration you could effectively set a braking bias how you like!

Seriously, with all the shaft and belt driven onroad cars availible, what hasnt any company decided to build a TRUELY scale RWD car. If it was true scale with a solid axle and front brakes then it should handle decent. Sure, it wont be a racer or hang with 4wd cars, but it would be tons of fun to drive. Who wouldnt want to do a burnout....without havign to put your foot in front of the car?!

Presonalal, if I had a ton of spare cash right now Id make you a generous offer on that car. Its a wonderful build. Its really sad that the big rc companies dont see what true hobbiest build and then do likewise on a production scale. It does seem many of them only care about pumping out new models to make a quick buck, instead of coming up with truely unique and wonderful models.
