I used the stock tanks for quite sometime in both series and parallel with no problems
There very strong stiff tanks, and so far have not heard any creaking wile defueling?
I think you probhave a flow issue, if its not the vent it might be a crushed fuel line or evan a burr on a copper pipe or clunk.

I hope you resolve it soon.
