With the cowl mounted it is set back over the fuselage a little. The setback will give you a little room to play with cowl depth and engine mounting to get the correct prop hub to cowl clearance. If you are going to build a cowl making it longer in depth may look more scale and will allow you to set the engine farther ahead to get the C.G with less added weight.
