<span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">I got a VK 65" Cherokee recently from a local RCer on CraigsList. A little rough, everything is there but the main gear and ailerons.
Could someone measure their ailerons and let me know length and, most important, chord (width)? I can guess, but woul like it to fly close to the original.
The wing and stab are covered with a stretchy, sticky white fabric-look covering that reminds me of thin surgical tape. It doesn't stick well, maybe due to age, so it will go. The wing is one piece with no bellcrank, torque rods or provision for aileron servos. Also no dowels or other attachment provisions, so I'll have to engineer the mount and aileron servos.
This wasn't a 3-channel, was it? The plans are very tough, one page assembly instructions (lol!) and the box says 'The Big One' (no comment!), for .40-.51, and for 'Multi-channel reeds or proportional'.
VK, when men built kits and it wasn't as much Radio Control as Radio Suggestion.
