RE: Eindecker EIII
Over the weekend I also checked the incidence on the stab and wings.
First I plugged the wings in.....then I slid the anti rotation pins in place - this is the first time I have done this.
The Robart incidence meter read right at 2 degrees positive. The wing is a big flat bottomed wing with a raised leading ledge.....it raises gently from the front spar to the leading edge.
By design, the flat bottom is located parallel to the longerons - or to put it another way, it is zero degrees. The raised leading edge gives the wing an overall positive incidence relative to the stab. The firewall is also set at zero degrees. When I mount my engine I will probably give it a little bit of right thrust - maybe 1 to 2 degrees and a little down thrust, again 1 or 2 degrees.
