No need to remove the front cover.

Remove the 2mm screw on the black plastic base at the front of the engine.
Remove the 2.5mm screw on the tail cone that holds the aft lug the probe goes through.
Carefully pull the black base up and work the probe out of the hole in the tail cone.
Replace just the opposite as described.
Recalibrate temp when you turn the motor on.
