Default RE: Multi Pushrod connector

Hi fellows: I am a licensed aircraft mechanic, and believe there are not many people who would love to fly in a full size aircraft that had flight controls connected to set screw fittings. I had this two elevator wire problem to solve on my F-22 as the plans called for using two wheel coller set screw fittings to attach the left rod to the right elevator rod which was bolted/attached to the servo arm. I tried a dog bone set up which did not move both elevators together. My use of two threaded ball swivel fittings threaded onto new rods which had threads on one end, and then ran a cap headed long bolt through both fittings into the servo arm. Now both elevators are secured to the servo. The remaining rod ends had brass threaded fittings soldered to the rods after roughing up the rod areas to receive the solder. Having one elevator rod located above the other did not pose a problem as there was plenty of space in the fuse. The remaining problem is the crummy metal rods. The left elevator rod housing was installed at an angle which causes a problem in the movement. I may have to remove the system, and install the Nyrods as was done for the rudders. The elevator connections at the horns, are also pivoting swivels due to the rudder angle movement. Any questions, send me an e-mail: [email protected]
