Now,some people will, of course, argue that the price ofO.S.or Futaba or Robbe ESC's is higher,because they are clearly "better quality". -They are the BMW or Mercedes compared to the Ford ...
Some people will doubtless suggest thatO.S. and Futaba have added extra features to their ESC,their software is better,or they have different or improved programming etc etc-And that is why Robbeor O.S. or Futabacharge much more for the ESC with their brand sticker on,because it is a higher grade or is somehow upgraded from themuch cheaper versionlabelled asSJ PROPO (own brand),MegaPower Future,or LogicRC -Fusionetc...
Indeed, this point of view was expressed bymember RCU aeajrearlier in this thread,when he stated:
" ...It is quite possible to make several brands or products in the same factory, each to a different design and quality level. Even if 10 different ESC come out of the same factory, that does not mean they are the same, or even similar ..."
" ... The value in the apple products is not in the hardware, though there is a certain amount of enhanced value there, it is in the software and, to a large extent that is what you are paying for ..."
To check whether there might be any basis to this viewpoint, I looked at the manuals of all these 100A ESC's.
And the short answer is:
THEY ALL HAVE IDENTICAL PROGRAMMING AND PROGRAM PARAMETERS
THEY ALL HAVEIDENTICAL FEATURES
THEY ALL HAVE A BASICALLY IDENTICAL MANUAL, WITH IDENTICALSTEPS EXPLAINED...
Therefore: There is NO basis whatsoever to the argument that you pay twice as much for an O.S.,Futabaor RobbeESCbecause it is somehow better, or has more or added features.
-The O.S.,Futaba and Robbe 100A ESCis IDENTICAL in every way to the SJ PROPO Hawk, MegaPower Future,and LogicRC -Fusion 100A ESC.
The $127 SJ PROPO 100A HAWKis identical in every way to the O.S. OCA-1100HV 100Aand to the$300 Robbe ROXXY BLControl 9100-12 100A ... ( -and it even has a fan / heatsink, which the O.S. and Futaba do not ...)
TheONLY difference between these ESC's is the little brand sticker on the outside of the plastic case ...
