Default RE: My Ace hardware now carries Stihl oil.

Hey guys................Why do so many posts wind up in a slug fight with some of you getting your panties in a wad? Geeeeeze poeple!

Info on Stihl oil..................

The orange bottle is their preimum petroleum oil Which is great oil. It's been around for years
The silver "Ultra oil" is their best oil & is total synthetic.

2.6 oz bottle is for one gallon at 50:1 ratio
5.2 oz bottle is for a two gallon at 50:1 ratio
6.4 oz bottle is for a 2.5 gallon mix at 50:1
12.8 oz bottle is for five gallon mix at 50:1

How do I know the above? I am a full line Stihl dealer of over 41 years!

To answer the original poster, the HP Ultra is the best or maybe I should say one of the best (so as not to start another squabble) oils to use in most engines requiring a mix. We are currently turning up a couple of our chain saws at 16,500 rpms with no issues. This oil has many additives & also a stabilizer in the oil.

Just as important as the oil is the quality of the fuel used, but that's for another day...................

All Stihl products are mixed at 50:1 (using Stihl oil) & if you want to mix at a certain ratio, see post # 56 & click his link or Google a mixing chart. It's not hard to do or figure out......................
