RE: Torus CG
Hi Bob,
I put it like that in the manual like that because the Torus is a heavy model. That way makes it easier to lift, and is a simple fast way to check it out, so it's how I do it myself. Also, it ensures that the first flights are not made with the model tail heavy!
You'll note that I also give the CG position as right on the front spar. If you have a balancing set up that will take 30 lbs of model, great. but if not you can do it the easy way that I suggest.
Another way is to hang the whole model up on two loops of strong cord round the front spar each side of the centre wing if you have an overhead beam to attach it to. Any way is OK, but lifting it up with the hatch off takes 10 seconds! It's a quick way to check it using the K.I.S.S. principle. Hence the suggestion !
