It seems we are in agreeance about the TP Power motors. I'm a big fan of them.
But all the 'D' wind motors I have are run with 1- 3.5 degres of timing. Everything I've read suggests that D wind motors don't like a lot of timing. I only run the 'Y' wind motors at 15 degrees.

I've seen ply laid into hulls before but I've never done it myself. It's fine when building up from a bare hull. But if the mount is already in there, as in many of these ARTR boats, then the carbon rods are so much easier. No need to take the mounts out to fit the ply.

I've just come back from the lake with the guys running two of these boats. In an earlier post I stated they were running the 2200kv 3674 motor. I was wrong it is the 2075 kv version. This one from HOR.

I lent one of my 440/3 race props to one of them & it was a fast, good handling boat. Almost on the edge of being over powered.
It will work well on a 2000kv motor too.
