Default RE: Ebay = high priced?

The problem is a bunch of people with nothing else to do and money to burn.

I recently began perusing e-Bay for the first time, since I'm looking for something that is long out of production. It is simply amazing what some folks will pay.

I have come to the conclusion that I have no use for auctions. Got too many other things to do more pressing that keep an eye on a time deadline where I have to be in front of my computer; because if you really want something, and people are bidding on it, the only way to win it is by being a better "sniper"- and some of those folks are pros, it would seem.

I prefer the old-fashioned way of doing business. Unfortunately, it seems that most folks who have this item of my desire are putting them on e-Bay. So I'm dealing with the BS involved in auctions, but my heart is not in it. I don't want the thing bad enough to pay twice or three times what it is worth.

A buddy of mine, who does this big time, said it appears that a lot of these "power bidders" do it for the thrill of winning, and nothing less. He thinks that because he often sees the same items re-posted for auction soon after they are won. What dweebs; get a life. Or a motorcycle; there's a "thrill" for you...
