I use 1/8 " and do 3 or 4 wraps .. It kind of depends on how tight you wrap it.. You need to experiment till you get the feel.. It is quite cheap so you can afford to play with it a bit.. I gave up on the o rings because they broke when I wasent even using them and this stuff never breaks .
