If the prop is badly out of balance I will start with 220 sandpaper and get it close by sanding the back side of the heavy blade. Once I'm close I switch to 400 sandpaper to sneak up on the final balance. If the prop is not too far out I can sometimes go straight to the 400. I always remove material from the back of the blade(bottom of the airfoil) to keep from changing the airfoil too much.
