I too want to take a moment and thank Chip, Leon, and the entire Bear Mountain Flyers Club for hosting this event. I most likely will not be able to attend the Nats this year so for me this was my "Nats", and even though I had to leave Saturday night to catch a flight to DC for work, it was a wonderful event that I will fondly remember for a long, long time. Late on Saturday afternoon I made a comment to someone that I believe to be valid and relevant, "This contest has everything you could want in a Pattern Meet. There's lots of pilots and planes, nearly perfect weather, a fantastic facility, and a fun group of people having a really good time!". I will also remember the look on Chip's face when he saw the framed Dr. Jeckyl - Mr. Hyde artwork that we gave him after the totally INSANE Saturday lunchtime Helicopter demo by Kyle, it was just priceless!
It was also really great to see some of the people that I normally only get to see once a year at the Nats. It reminded me that flying pattern would be nothing if not for all the people that are associated with it, that's what the memories are about the people who helped create them with us.
I took a handful of pics of the sunset on Saturday as the evening wound down, hopefully they'll come out on here as they were the perfect ending to a perfect contest day for me. Thanks Everybody!
