I added a strip of 1/16" ply inside the lam on my Cub when I built it because I felt it wasn't quite strong enough .. It really made a difference . a 3/8" wide strip of 1/16 ply bends easily to the shape of the inside and clamps in easily and probably doubles the strength ..It might be overkill but on the BUSA all the joints were in the same spots . there is 3 lams.. a 1/8 balsa , a 1/8 ply , then another 1/8 balsa .. I think they could have staggered the joints to make it stronger but the are all together .. That's why I added the strip of ply on the inside..
