you are right about the methanol attracting moisture but i shouldnt have any methanol down in the crankcase as the fuel never gets near it . As i also use low nitro and dont run it very lean the acid issue is never a problem. If this was a 2 stroke then it would be a different story as raw fuel would remain in the crankcase after it was shut down
