Default RE: Let's meet the new guys!

Hi there! My name is David and I am a 46 year old unemployed Project Engineer. A close friend got me involved in this sport by asking me to help him build a Top Flite AT6 Texan. Upon seeing the box contents, I knew we needed some 'educating before jumping in. In the last three months I have managed to: locate and join a local flying club (with a field 6 miles from my house); join the AMA; purchase, learn the basics on and solo on a third hand Hobbico SuperStar 40 (with more patches and tape than original covering); purchase, assemble and get a club instructor test fly a new Sig LT-40; finish the wing, and infanage (sp?) of a Sig Kadet Senior and continue to review the instructions of the AT6.

The help I've recieved here (and reviewing Model Sport Videos) has been invaluable. What an incredible source of information! The help and patience offered from my fellow club members has been very uplifting (since it took me about twice as long to solo as most folks in the club) and reassuring.

To all of those folks out there that help us new guys....THANK YOU!!!
