RE: GTM 1/2 Scale Fokker Triplane
Morning
If anyone is interested in the way I do my bracing I will go thru it quick.
First you have to use a solid wire. I have a spool of wire I got from my Dad for he was in the wire buisness his whole life. I believe it's stainless. He's passed so I can't ask him. I put one end in a vise, with a 4 ft length at the other end I roll a couple times around a set of needle nose pliers. Then I pull, or tug a bit to stretch the wire, or draw it. If the peice for instance is 40 inches long it will stretch to 44, so that being said the length increases 4 inches. I do this so as the wire does not get loose over time from stretching. And to get it nice and straight. I then apply it to the fuse bays and secure it with either turnbuckles where needed or Dubro swaiges. I made up a tightening tool to acomplish this with. Not easy you could use an extra hand to get them good and tight.
