Hello Matt

Congratulations. Under 5000 g with DLE 50 is incredible !
What is weight of the engine ?
Claude
Thanks guys....

Claude the DLE55 is not the stock engine you buy. In earlier pages I show the reworked engine I'm using. With the help of a machinist friend we removed about 3 1/2 ounces of dead weight off the engine. My engine weight is 2 lbs 12 ounces, or 44 ounces. Compared to the OS GT33, that's 10 ounces heavier. In additionthe supporting pieces which include pipe, header, prop, prop bolts, soft rubber iso mount, longer stand offs andcouplers, add another 7 ounces over the same parts used on the 33.

HadI used the OS GT33 from the start, the plane would have been less than 10# RTF. It would have flown like a feather tho with that much wing area. Regardless, that's a great number to work towards on the next Delta, with slightly smaller wing area. Remember, I built the mold for the model in the early pages so I can make another copy anytime. But first I need to see what this one needs to fly right

The powerplant hadbeen run extensively in an Extra (about 25 hours run time). The piped set-up is well understood and of course, fully broken in.
