Default RE: HOB Micro Electric Cub

Vicman,

Thanks! Yes it does look big, but if you take into consideration that this actuall kit was kitted back in 2001 or before and the plans call for a 6 cell, sub-c size nicd/nimh pack, it actually is quite small! The plans actually call for a 600mah battery, this is a 800mah. I may drop it to a smaller lipo to save on weight to get my wing loading down more, but we will have to wait and see how she flies. The plans call for a flying weight of 12oz, it is currently 8.2oz. At 12oz it has a wing loading of 10.8oz / sq inch, at 8.2oz the wing loading is down to 9.1oz / sq inch. Like Imentioned above i got some more work to do to get it flight ready. Once all of that work is done, Iwill then know the finish weight and wing loading. I may try the smaller battery and compare run times and if the run time is acceptable, Imay just keep it with the smaller battery. BTW I call an acceptable run time 10 to 15 minutes of nice peaceful flying.

Thanks!

Bill
