One thing you will find is that the cost is a lot more than just the cost to get your license. If you rent a plane, you are looking at $100 up per hour- wet. That is if you can find something to rent at $100 (wet). If you own a plane, keep in mind the addage " A boat is a hole to throw money into." Then multiply that times 3.
I own a 1965 Citabria and am the Sec/Treas of a flying club with a 172 and 182. I know the costs.
That said, I love flying and encourage anyone who is interested to go for it. Just keep in mind that the costs don't end when you get your license. Neither does the learning. Make sure you are ready financially and mentally.
