I'm 15 (16 in a couple weeks) and thinking about trying to get a private pilot's license. I want to get one because I think it would be awesome to just hop in a plane and go fly when and wherever you want . . .
The owners of the aircraft generally frown on that.
Have you looked into the cost of renting or owning a private plane? That's what halted my license pursuit once Igraduated from college and the Avaition Club was no longer subsidizing my flight hours. Much cheaper to fly R/C. ;-)
Though, I did get married two weeks out of college to the secretary of the Avaition Club! 33 years agolast Tuesday. So it did pay off - she tolerates my R/C flying.
