WOW!
What a collection of misfits! LOL
Actually, I have a lot in common with most of you. Here's a little of MY background.
I was introduced to RC as a child because my dad flew (He's now 82 and still flying every day) I first learned on single channel escapements, and progressed through the ranks as the technology progressed. I flew junior pattern as a teenager, Worked as a jet mechanic in the Navy for 4 yrs, then I gave it up for a while when I got married. My wife said I had more important things to spend OUR money on. So I got back into it after the divorce.
I spent about 15 years as a machinist (The last 6 working on CAD Systems for C-5 Cargo Planes for the New York Air Nat. Guard) And nowadays I spend my time as a graphic artist for a family owned marketing firm in rural Minnesota.
I also spend much of my time here at RCU, moderating a few of the forums, and doing product reviews for RCU Magazine (If you haven't seen the Magazine yet, just click on 'Magazine' at the top of the page. It's FREE!)
As far as what I am flying now, I have been so busy with product reviews this summer, that I haven't flown any of my OWN planes much this year, but when I do, it is mostly my GP Supre Skybolt, or my 27% Extra 300.
That said, I, and several other very knowledgeable people spend many hours a day hanging out here. So feel free to keep the questions coming, there's bound to be someone lurking around who can help you out!
And feel free to post an answer to someone else's questions if you have a good solution to their problem.
Once again. Welcome to RCU!
(PS Robert, the meeting you want is two doors down on the left
