Captn, one engine has never been started, so I guess I'll fire it up and
see what it does, the other engine runs fine but has a persistent miss
that is very annoying and embarrassing at the field, if you know what I
mean. I've tried everything from different gaps in the plug and tweaking
the carb fuel mixture, but the miss is still there. I would like to remedy
that condition. If the Bowman ring will do that I will gladly opt for that

Yes first thing is to put in a NGK-CM-6. Spark plug.You might retard the timing a few degrees some are timind way to far advanced. Move the sensor counter clockwise same way the engine turnes. If engine has good compression Bowman ring will not cure the miss.
I do have bowman rings in nearly all my engines.
Dle did change there rings some time ago and they are much better now.
