Jeff are right, as usual, all the A1 were cast, the Tamiya was an exception as it was a M4 105 with radial and HVSS, but the name wasn't A1 just M4 105. It was manufactured close the end of the war.
I just re-read this statement and it sounds confusing. The Tamiya Sherman is an M4 welded hull with HVSS and a radial engine. No A1, no other letters.
Just all A1's were cast hulls and all A1's had radial engines.
