Hey Guys,
I'am trying to make up my mind on my 1/6 scale F-16 if I should use the Bell or bypass .
I have never used one on any of my jets before and am using a jetcat 160sx
On The skymaster F-16 the bell sits back into the fuse I think it might go on fire with a hot start .
Need to know what you guys are doing and what is the way to go with this onel.
Bellmouth is all I have ever used on Skymaster F-16s. You are correct though. If you have a wet start you do risk damaging the airframe. If you put BVM heat shield in the area above the bellmouth, it will be fine though.
Both types of installs work fine though. I've become fond of the full bypass as of late. If you use the bellmouth, I do recommend at least using a half bypass to help prevent FOD from getting into your tubing from the bottom since it is pretty much exposed on the F-16.
