RE: Some Skymaster GoPro fun in OK
Dave:
I asked because the field and entry road looked very familiar. I used to attend the Field of Dreams event from 1992 to about 1995. Kent Landefeld was the CD. I really enjoyed the event. In fact I had one of my Yellow A-4's go into the potato field off to the pilots left (north I think). I was in the landing pattern on final and the plane snapped as I slowed and made the turn to final. Nice thing about the potato field was that it had just been plowed and the plane landed on one of the high spots of the plowed field, nose first. It was not damaged so I cleaned the engine and intake out and continued flying. On another jet rally at the field one of the guys had his F-15 quit on final. It landed in the corn field to the right (south) and since the corn had not yet been harvested it was covered by the corn as it hit the ground. It took us about 3 hours to find it and we only found it when one of he guys hit the fuse with one of his legs. I also remember Tom Dodgedon (spelling?) and Gus Hudson flying their BVM F-86's in formation. They really did a wonderful job.
Really liked the event AND the people of Tulsa.
