RE: Flyfalcons new Composite-Arf 2.6m extra 330 vids
Yes, Advanced next season. By then I'll have had plenty of time to really dial the plane in. Nice meeting you at Molalla by the way - you're doing great!
Stratos, the reason I think the negative differential has something to do with less squeal is because the ailerons don't deflect up very much, which in turn doesn't allow as much air to rush over the lip on the lower side of the wing. Currently my servos are maxed out for aileron travel - I have the 1" H9 arms and they don't give me as much throw as the phenolic arms would. I'm not worried about it though, for right now the plane flies great in 3D and I am getting it dialed in a little better for sequences. I just keep dialing the elevator down, and am still working on the rudder and ailerons. Flew one flight today and am getting very comfortable with it.
For snap rolls, I am using full rudder and aileron (on low rates) and about 1/3 elevator. Seems to do well, but negative snaps over rotate some. I'll have to keep tweaking to get them just right. The plane likes to be flown a little faster than some of the other planes in this range (Radiowave, Aeroworks, etc) but I like the aggressive style and the faster speed just makes for larger loops, cubans, goldfish, etc. The plane is very docile at low speeds but snaps will over rotate if you are too slow. 3D flight is very stable and the DA-100 has plenty of power to get me out of any situation. So far a very satisfying experience.
