I always balance gear up.<div>
</div><div>GEar down results in a false positive nose heavy situation. Once gear is up you could be tail heavy and unflyable. This is especially important with the P-40 Warhawk and F-4U Corsair.</div><div>
</div><div>Many scale warbirds also have the gear slightly further forward in the down position than it should be for true scale since this allows for more stable ground handling. Hence, always CG gear "UP"</div>
