I couldn't agree more with you. I had the same headache when I wanted to convert my CARFMig-15 retracts to behotec.... Balls, no chance to mount the struts onto the mechanics. I also prefer to clamp the legs in the retracts rather than using the tiny allen screws to fix them. But yeah, somtimes you have to cut corners.
