I just got into this hobby in June of this year and love it! I wanted to get into it about three years ago, but the guys I worked with talked me into 1/10 scale on-road R/C instead. Converted to 1/8 scale buggy racing after moving to Northern California two years ago. I Thought that learning to fly would be easy since I already knew how to drive the cars. Was I wrong!
I'm a semi-retired electrical engineer and guitarist. I teach classical guitar and currently play in two different musical groups. So far, I've been able to fly at least once a week.
Eventually I'd like to use a wireless video cam to get some pictures from the plane, but for now, I'm happy to fly my Tower Hobbies 40 size trainer. My second plane is a VMAR VAN RV-4. I can hardly wait for it to come back from Richmond RC (hopefully the wing halves will fit properly this time) so I can begin work on it.
