Organo phosphate poisoning can have very serious health implications. Individual sensitivity varies greatly, you treat it with contempt at your own risk, once you develop symptoms it's too late.

Anyone doubting this should talk to my best mate, a former B757 captain who was positively diagnosed with OP poisoning following exposure to oil fumes, the 757 is a known problem aircraft for this. He lost his licence and his general health is not good.

The oil companies are, of course, playing this down, they potentially have a lot to lose.
Like many things in aviation, a little care and thought can reap real benefits. I try to avoid direct contact with these oils.
