You can check with your local machine shops to see if anyone can TIG weld it for you and resurface and rethread the damaged area . If you have to pay the usual hourly rate for machine and welding work it will be cheaper to replace the cylinder . Another possible source is your local community college , most have welding and machine shops and may take on the project for little or no cost .
