RE: Futaba 18mz programing help needed
With all due respect Phil, you are wrong.
When you use flight conditions on a 18MZ(and I believe on JR radios to not cause a war), you can have different trims for each flight condition. My standard setup is to have 5 flight conditions for every model. These are normal(no flap, no UC), takeoff no UC(first flap, no UC), takeoff UC(first flap with UC), landing no UC(full flap, no UC), landing UC(full flap with UC). For every one of these conditions I have the trim separated so that no matter what config the model is in, it flies straight and level. Normally I just have the elevator trim separated between each condition as this is the only trim that changes with Flap/UC but I have got one model where the aileron was also separated as flap induced a small roll.
In addition, for each condition, I have a condition delay so that the surfaces don't move instantaneously to their new positions, they move slowly(totally configurable time BTW). This delay is defined to be the same as the time to move the flaps.
So as you can see mixing is an old fashioned way of achieving the same result but to acheive the 5 different trims levels I woud need 4 mixes, 8 if I wanted to retrim both elevator and Aileron.
BTW Flight conditions are extremely powerfull as you can also change exp/ATV(AFR in futaba terms) and many other params.
