“THE WEST COAST PREMIER JET EVENT”
I am pleased to announce and welcome you to attend the 24th Annual Best In The West Jet Rally. This spectacular event takes place on Wednesday, October 16th through Sunday, October 20, 2013, at the Buttonwillow Elk Hills Airport in Buttonwillow, CA. Early bird pilot set-up begins on Tuesday, October 15th, and early bird jet pilots are encouraged and welcome to fly and set-up their pit area. Buttonwillow Airport’s runway is paved with 3,450 feet long and 50 feet wide with unobstructed flying and no restrictions.
Once again, I would like to extend a special “thanks” to the B.A.R.K.S. Club for all their participation with this event in the past and especially this year, and to the Kern County Airport for allowing us to use the Buttonwillow Elk Hills Airport. We look forward to having as many pilots from all parts of the world attending this year’s event. The 2013 rally is slated to be the largest event in recent past, and I am excited to announce new festivities added to the Friday evening line-up. Once again we will have our pilot’s dinner on Friday night held at the field in our large 40 X 70 tent. Mouthwatering catering for this event will be provided by Marshall’s Bodacious BBQ. The dinner fee is $25.00 (free to all registered pilots). This year’s entertainment includes music from early Van Halen performed by the tribute band “The Atomic Punks.” Van Halen fans are certain to appreciate this truly remarkable tribute band. Saturday evening features the 2013 Awards Banquet and Dinner Auction to be held in the same tent and again with catering provided by Marshall’s Bodacious BBQ. Banquet cost is $35.00. Saturday night’s banquet is always packed with excitement, great food, and an impressive auction. You will not want to miss out on the incredible merchandise donated by our various Sponsors. And, to round out the evening, this year’s trophy awards are impressive with 33 to be presented.

www.bestinthewestjetrally.com. You may pre-register and pay for your Jet Rally needs from the website. PayPal is available on the website to pre-register at the discounted rate of $50.00. Onsite registration will be $60.00. Other rental considerations include tents, tables, chairs, banquet tickets, Friday night dinner tickets (free to registered pilots), shirts, etc. Credit Cards will be accepted on site. Camping is offered, however hook-up’s are not available. You may also rent a trailer if you prefer to camp on-site, please see the website for rental information. Food is available for purchase serving breakfast and lunch from Thursday, October 17th through Saturday, October 19th. There will be a pilot’s raffle, a general raffle and 50/50. Raffle tickets can be purchased from Nancy at the registration table. This year’s event along with past “Best In The West” events is a non-profit event with all net proceeds donated to The Make-A-Wish Foundation, additional information pertaining to donations can be found on the website.
I would like to personally welcome you all and hope to see many of you at this year’s event as it looks to be an outstanding affair. This is the largest jet event on the West Coast and one of the largest jet events in the country.
