Default RE: WACO YMF

Waco YMF Barth 1/3

I got lots of good input on servos, etc from members. Then I took the cheap and dirty approach. Hitec HS-805BB for elevator and rudder. Located them in turtle deck. Elevator servo mounted upright and connected to an arrow shaft with 4-40 rod and on the back end of arrow shaft to elevator halves with 4-40 rods to each. Glued 4-40 rods to arrow shaft with JB Weld. For rudder and tail wheel, I mounted the servo upside down on same rails used for elevator servo. Will run pull-pull cables. No walking beam used. I understand the benefit but think I can get away without it. Photos included. Undecided on gluing in servo rails or making them bolt on. Baggage hatch will allow access from top. From underside access possible behind pilot. Not as clean as I would like.

Working stringers. Decided to make a drawing of former notches using velum right over the plan and cutting it out and putting it on former. Easier for me than trying to measure and better than guessing. So far pretty straight but not perfect.

For power, I went cheap. Just ordered a new Evolution 152GX, a 152cc twin on EBAY. I believe it is from a Czech manufacturer and know little about it except that it was offered from Horizon and withdrawn. Now looking for mufflers.
