Agreed. You really don't want to spend your money on a basic radio just to have to upgrade when you buy your second plane. Given your experience, I wouldn't suggest a trainer at all. As I said in your other thread, an Ugly Stick is perfect for what you are needing it to do for you. And there should be no worries at all since you have help. Many pilots have done their primary training on a Stick; they are that good. I've linked to one for you here that has been around for a long time. That plane with 4 ball bearing sport servos, and Thunder Tiger .46 pro or OS .46 AX, and whichever radio you choose will get you a very forgiving yet capable airplane that will get you your confidence and skills back quickly.
