If not its a good thing to do haven't snapped a chassis on either of my DF-02's since I did it. And they were through quite a bit. That fix's one of the few real weaknesses I've had issues with on the chassis. I've done plent of other things, but those were mainly for performance, or to help it survive the brushless setup I threw in

Side note I'd recommend a DF-02 over a frog as its a more modern chassis, it can take a decent beating, and you can do a few different things to make it different. Like I have one set up as a stadium truck with truck tires on it

My Brushless one has been in 2-3 full speed crashes, and only thing that happened was I lost part of a shock (my nephew turned into it head on when I was doing a speed run thinking it was funny) Still drove it for 20 mins missing a shock as the BL setup I run pulled the front end up enough where it was drivable
