2 yrs in the making
All,
This is a great thread and gives some fantastic advice to those building this Kit...I've built 2 of these now... My first was the standard Kit and I left it as it came out the box in the Springbok Scheme which is the pic of the DC3 flying.
Unfortunately I lost this due to a rib failure where the outer wing joins to the inner wing.. There must have been some kind of failure in the rib on the outer section of the wing.. as it just came away from the wing.
Never known this before and never seen it happen to any other models so I think it was a one off.
I loved it so much though and it flies like a trainer it really does..!! Once you have got over the initial torgue and pull to the left its so easy to take off and fly round.
I have 2 x Laser 100 4 strokes in mine throwing 3 blade 14x6 props which give just about 3 mm clearance on the Fuz when spinning..Painted black with yellow tips they give a very realistic prop ring when running.
The second version had to be a C-47 for me... So I set about deciding which one.
I ended up going for the aircraft that flew Easy Company into Normandy on D-Day. It flew from RAF Uppotery airfield in the UK so has a very Historical relevance.
here are my pic... Hope you enjoy...
