I guess if you tried to wear in an oval shaped cylinder it would then be wore out. I have thought a lot about puting a Davis Diesel head on mine and running it with out the flywheel but some say the flywheel partly balances the crank. Mine came with the key in the flywheel being too tall and making the flywheel wobble.
