All the suggestions are good, but if you want real simplicity use radio programming instead of sequencer boxes. Doors and gear can be mixed using a master switch and two point curve Pmixes.
Please tell, do you speak Futaba?

Although the EMS sequencer it's simple & cheap, one less gadget the better

I'm using a 12 FG with the 14 channel software. - John.
