Jeremy superb rant,i have been flying models 30 plus years the last 20 has been jet type models of some sort.started of with ducted fans and moved on to turbines as soon as they became reliable.my first turbine model was a hotspot with a p80,cost me about £4000 to put in the air at current rates thats probably £12000.its always amazed me that folks spend thousands on jets and dont bother to check it out properly, they just asume that because it cost thousands it has to work.i have looked at other peoples models before the first flight and voiced that I just dont think thats safe and been told BUT THATS THE WAY IT CAME so what!.i have built kits from most of the manufactures and they all need a bit of sorting some way or another.to many folks just throw money at jets and go fly them.there was a saying amongst aerobatic flyers in the 80s YOU CANT BUY ABILITY............
if a model has so much bad press then DONT BUY IT if you do expect to do a bit of fettling. If you have bought it and its as bad as they say then bite the bullet put it down to experience and BIN IT
